Nicole Richie`s probation extended
Nicole Richie`s probation in relation to her 2007 conviction for Driving Underthe Influence (DUI) has been extended.
Court records show that a judge has given Nicole a further 12 months to complete her court-ordered alcohol education classes because her young children have prevented from taking the required number of sessions. Nicole pleaded guilty to a misdemeanour DUI charge in July 2007 and was sentenced to four days in jail, three years` probation and an 18-month anti-drinking driver education course.
Her probation period was due to end next month, but giving birth to and caring for her children Harlow, two, and nine-month-old Sparrow has meant Nicole has not attended enough classes. The judge did not reprimand the star for her failure to fulfil her requirements, praising her "excellent attitude", but did order her to complete her course by next February.
The judge also said he would terminate her probation earlier if she completed her remaining alcohol education classes before March.
